European Robin (Erithacus rubecula).
I was interested to read that Norse Mythology says that the Robin was held in high regard by Thor the God of Thunder as a Sacred Storm Bird. Another tale says that the Robin was a plain brown bird which was stained by the blood of Christ while the Bird comforted him on the cross. |
