I can't believe nobody has commented on this. Amazing, I love the how the sun is bringing out the golden color on the top of it's head. What size lens do you use to get these amazing closeups if I may ask?

Thanks Ryan, The Swan was only about few feet away from me, i checked the EXIF data and it was taken at 60mm, the colour on its head comes from feeding in iron rich areas i believe, don't quote me on that though, but yes the light brings it out.
I have been using a couple of Fuji cameras up until a about six months ago, an s7000 and a s9500, the 9500 was used for this image, it looks like a DSLR but isn't, it has a fixed lens that equates to 28-300mm, very nice camera for carrying around, has many DSLR attributes.
About six months ago i decided i liked photography enough to warrant getting some better kit, so i bought my first DSLR and love it, bit of a learning curve involved after using the Fujis, but i think i am getting the hang of it slowly.
I do still use the Fujis frequently, as i said they are perfect for carrying around in a small bag opposed to the rucksack i now have for the DSLR ! i have got in to the habit of taking a camera almost everywhere with me now.
I just recently purchased a DSLR myself for the same reasons. Basically the cost of a decent ultrazoom was only a little less than an entry level DSLR. Plus I've thought about taking some photo classes at the community college here. So I went with the pentax k100...I like it so far. I've got a 70-210mm manual lens coming...and I bought a large backpack like case for it I'm going to the desert in a couple weeks so hopefully i'll get to break the camera in. Thanks for the info, and I look foward to seeing some more of your work.

When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
