I am looking to get some new kit and thought it might be wise to look into some insurance, currently I have everything on my Home contents policy with an additional loss outside the home up to £3K...

I would like to have some better cover as I am looking to get a EF 500mm and possibly a 1D MKIII, needless to say cover up to 3K is way off the mark.

So anyone know of any kit insurers or content policy caveats that might work for me?

Also for anyone who has got this far, what do you reckon, a second-hand 1D MKIII with only 17K actuations (6mths old) or a new 5D MKII, just interested to know what others would opt for, I was originally thinking of a 50D because of the sensor crop and frame rate, the 5D is a lot slower but better on everything else, the 1D is blisteringly fast but more expensive even second-hand.
